Syriac Depiction of the "Three Wise Men"

The following is a Syriac depiction of the Three Wise Men who were seeking the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. Interestingly and in contrast to the European impressions of the Middle East, those Three Wise Men are mounting horses and not camels. Camels were animals used by the Arab nomads of Arabia, but not by the then majority Syriac/Chaldean/Assyrian population which occupied the Fertile Crescent area (the area that compromises Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan and Palestine) from amongst most definitely those Three Wise Men originated from.
